Sandy Hook has some of the nicer public beaches with quick access from Northern NJ. The beach and water are almost always clean. There is a fee of $15 for cars which for some may be a little pricey and if you show up too late you might not get the desired beach or a parking space at all. The bathrooms are kind of dirty and there are no garbage cans, so at the end of the day everyone piles their garbage in the bathrooms.
The improvements to this area are nice to see. I grew up around here and at times this area was neglected, but it's looking good now. Free parking and concession stands also...
Very nice beach. I went with my family and we loved it. Its very beautiful, but its not so convinient.
Nice bathroom and shower facilities. food trucks available. have to get there VERY early or it will be packed.
I been going to sandy hook since I was a kid now I bring my family there and they enjoy the fun.. I love that there's a Bayside to fish and ocean side which has several different beaches.I wish they still had the fishing pass where you can drive your truck on the fishing beach
